Labdoor — MicroVitamin
Labdoor buys product off the shelf and tests it at an independent laboratory. We don’t control the result and we don’t get to approve it.

Heavy metals — found vs. daily limit (µg per serving)
LOQ = limit of quantitation (below the level the instrument can measure). Microbiology — total plate count, yeast and mould, coliforms, E. coli, staphylococcus, salmonella and shigella — all passed.
What the certificate also shows
Labdoor passed the product overall, but the per-ingredient table isn’t all green, and we’d rather point at it than let you find it.
Vitamin C came in under label — 32.8 mg against 45 mg claimed. This one isn’t overage and we’re not going to dress it up: vitamin C degrades faster in a capsule than the other nutrients, it has come in under claim across more than one formula version, and changing its chemical form did not fix it. A microencapsulated form is being tested now. We’ll publish that result here whichever way it goes, and we won’t claim it’s solved until a stability test says so.
Vitamin D, niacin and folate came in above label — vitamin D at 60.3 µg against 25 claimed. That is manufacturing overage, explained further down this page, and it is the same thing ConsumerLab flagged.

The result we didn’t want
In March 2026, ConsumerLab failed MicroVitamin
ConsumerLab bought a bottle from the website in July 2025, tested it, and reported an overall result of Fail in March 2026. The full report is linked below and we haven’t edited a word of it.
What passed. Every heavy metal. Lead 0.278 µg/day, cadmium below 0.037, arsenic 0.147, mercury below 0.015. “Fail” sounds like contamination; that isn’t what happened.
What failed. Two nutrients came in above the label amount. ConsumerLab sends any failing test to a second independent laboratory, so there are two sets of numbers — and they don’t agree with each other closely. Both are shown here.

Why. Manufacturing overage. Nutrients degrade across a product’s shelf life, so formulas are deliberately made above the label amount in order to still meet the label at expiry. That batch specified a 50% overage for both. It was tested well inside its shelf life, which is why the numbers read high — but 240% is more than overage alone comfortably explains, and the folate figure also depends on a conversion factor that is genuinely contested.
What we did.
- Published the certificate of analysis so the explanation could be checked rather than taken on trust.
- Took the methodology question directly to ConsumerLab — specifically how methylfolate is converted into dietary folate equivalents, where the multiplier materially changes the result.
- Revised the overage specification downward. That change lands in the next formula version — it is not in the version shipping today, and the April 2026 Labdoor certificate above still shows vitamin D above label for the same reason.
- Kept recommending ConsumerLab as an independent testing resource. Scrutiny of this industry is a good thing even when we’re on the receiving end of it.
What “overage” means, and why it cuts both ways
A vitamin loses potency slowly from the day it’s made. Manufacture at exactly the label amount and the product falls below that amount long before its expiry date — so the label would be wrong for most of the product’s life. Manufacturers therefore build in a margin. Test early in shelf life and you find more than the label says; test near expiry and you find close to it.
That is standard practice, and it is why a higher-than-label reading is not the same as a mislabelled product. It is also why the size of the margin matters — and ours was larger than it needed to be. That’s the part we changed rather than defended.

Rather than manufacture in one country and freight it worldwide, MicroVitamin is produced locally in each major market, at GMP-certified facilities, with every batch third-party tested in region.
Certifications vary by facility and jurisdiction. The lot number on your bottle identifies which batch and facility it came from.
